Sir Joseph Noel Paton
Sir Joseph Noel Paton (13 December 1821 - 26 December 1901) was a Scottish artist, born in Wooer's Alley, Dunfermline, Fife. Born to a family of weavers who worked with damask, Joseph continued the family trade for a short time. He had strong artistic inclinations however and studied briefly at the Royal Academy, London in 1843.
